What?! Is the sky falling down or something?

Really, life isn't that interesting. But who says you can't write about it anyway?

Shit...

These next few weeks are shit crazy with soccer and tennis.  Wimbledon starts tomorrow, Copa America on Tuesday, and the U-20 on Saturday.  Then there is the NBA Draft on Thursday...Oden or Durant, Oden or Durant?  I think, and with bias, that Durant will do the best in the NBA, but a team doesn't always need the best player.  So thus it will be interesting...I can't wait!

I LOVE YOU BENNY FEILHABER!

He just scored a very nice goal that ended up being the game winner!  It should have been 4-1 or 4-2 US over Mexico but I'll take what I can get.  Oh man am I excited for Copa America though!  Hopefully I can catch something of it...  Please Univision show it (and not on Telefutura...).

Whoa, whoa

Whoa, whoa I am updating!

1) I have finally done 40 hours at lab and I even took "half" days on Monday and Tuesday. Aka I made it up by spending 13 hours in lab on Wednesday and had the 3 hours in lab on Sunday. Today? Well if I count trying to clean a column and dialyzing my enzyme as part of my work (I went home and ate dinner, yay!, and watched a little TV and went online), today would total a little over 10 hours. Let's say I rather balance this out a bit better next week, but I can't since my sister is coming up. I think I might stick in a 10+hour day sometime Monday-Wednesday since I'm taking a half-day on Thursday and no weekends please! But maybe I won't do 40 hours because I really don't have to...I'm working more weeks than I have to, so I can cut the hours, right? The prof will be pissed that I'm taking most of July 4th week off though. Well, I can use my parents as an excuse, right?

2) Wimbledon is here!  I'm still sad that Mario pulled out, but Andy Murray is back so it won't be as boring, hopefully.  I don't think I'll be watching as much of this tourney though, since I have lots of work to do and my sister to entertain, but I will try.  Matches are shorter, right?  And I never feel guilty about skipping coverage of Andy Roddick if he isn't playing against someone I care about (or if the matchup isn't interesting).  My girls are all on the same side, though, except for newly adopted Jelena.  I want Amelie to do well in this tourney since she has had a subpar year so far...thankfully she is far away from Lucie Safarova, the girl who has beaten Amelie in the last 2 slams.  Tatiana Golovin is back on the women's side, but I won't probably pay that much attention to her.  I have Ana and Sveta to root for!  Sveta changed her hair again...she is just so awesome, being able to do all of that confidently.  If you don't know by now, you do not have to be hot to be loved by me.

3) Copa America roster is out (soccer, ignore if you don't care)!  I'm happier about this roster than the Gold Cup one just because it has more of my guys on it.  Woot for Sacha and Benny and Brad and Jonathan and the hell, Eddie Gaven?  I don't think he's stood out in any way, but I do want him to do well sometime soon.  I remember seeing him play in the All-Star game like 4-5 years ago...before I got into obsessive sports-watching and I remember "stalking" him...so it's like a first crush hahahahaha...

4) I saw the girl (who I might have a crush on but probably don't) today for the first time in a while.  Even if I don't have the crush, seeing her made me smile.  I mean, I don't think of her as much as I think of this one guy in my lab, who I think about killing (or at least smacking) multiple times a day.  He just pisses me off...

5) I think I am a Canada-phile.  Sadness, I know.  But I have started rooting for Toronto FC (MLS team), CBC is going to cover most of the U-20 World Cup (yayayayness), they have Adam Wong (gymnast) and his awesome eyebrow, and they have the awesome commercial where the two soccer players are...ok nobody cares, I'll just have to laugh it the commercial every time I see it.

6) I walk by Palmer Fields all the time and every time I walk by the tennis courts I wish I could magically change into tennis gear and start playing right then.  I'm always so sad, watching people play tennis.  SOMEONE PLAY TENNIS WITH ME!  I'm a bit sick of the backboard game, but at least I get some of my itch out.

Falling Back

For some reason, summer time means "nostalgic" time for me. That includes listening to bad pop music, reading trashy fiction, playing videogames, wasting time, and attempts to learn things and failing. Wait, I do these things all the time! Hahahaha.

So I have fallen partially in love with the US Men's National Team for soccer. It's all because of Benny Feilhaber, Jonathan Bornstein, and Michael Bradley. I watched them play Panama today and wishing so bad that Benny was on the field. I'm sort of pissed that he didn't get to play. I also love Deuce and I would love Bobby if he were playing, but he's rehabbing. Otherwise, Bocanegra is sort of attractive, I always liked Ching but I really wish we could have better strikers than him and Taylor because they are sooo streaky, and Gooch is a monster but I really don't like him that much. And Landon...I'm also pissed at the fact that the U.S. sucks without him playing well. So he can sit on a fence. For the other players, I'm like "whatever". Well I do wish Justin Mapp could be better, and that Sacha got to play more...

Another rant that goes nowhere. But Wimbledon is in little over a week! Mario isn't officially listed as out, but it is most likely that he is out (even reported in some articles). Novak just lost to Arnaud Clement at Stella, but he will probably do pretty well since he'll get a high seed. Andy Murray may/may not be there too. Gael and Richard don't do as well at Wimbledon compared to the French... But Marin might make a breakthrough! I hope he can at least win one match at Wimbledon (but I probably won't see it anyway). He did pretty well at Stella, until he met Andy Roddick. I don't know if I am as interested in Wimbledon as I was last year...wait, I didn't watch so much of Wimbledon because of the World Cup so I may watch more this year... Amelie should do pretty well at Wimbledon...hopefully to defend her title! Ooh hopefully Ana does well here too...I want to see her new outfit! I love tennis dresses (I know, nerdy). I've adopted Jelena into my circle of faves so I hope she does well here too!

This is a complaint, but it is WAY TOO HOT RIGHT NOW. Ahhh you are not supposed to need the AC in June...it is supposed to be 70F and PLEASANT outside. Not SHITTY. (Okay, I'll shut up now.)

Post-French Open

The results were expected, but not exactly what I hoped. I mean, I wanted Ana to win! Duh.

Here is a Youtube link to the tennis players' karaoke. Ana also did some karaoke, but you have to find it at her website. She's just so cute in every way. And I have also jumped on Jelena's bandwagon. I guess I am pro-Croatia for soccer, pro-Serbia for tennis? But I love Mario the best. Too bad he won't be at Wimbledon! Wimbledon is only 2 weeks away!

My brother's friend was playing guitar yesterday, and now I really want to get a guitar. He says he might help me choose one whenever I decide to go buy one. Sweet! I hope I learn how to compose better songs once I learn some chords. Haha I can write a song for Ana!

HYPER!

I am soooo hyper right now, and not in the traditional way. I mean, I do want to kick something, but I don't want to hurt myself so I won't, but my brain is just going into overdrive. I can't even type sentences out correctly and I can't sit still enough to watch any more TV (well I have basically watched a lot of tennis and soccer and track this weekend so I'm happy) and I love "Un jour a Roland" because of the karaoke and Novak is sooo hot and amazing and I like it when he takes off his shirt and Ana is into the quarters along with Sveta and I really, really, really want to see that match and the super Justine v Serena match is also Tuesday and Novak is still alive (he will survive!) and ahhhh I love chocolate and my roommate made brownies and chocolate cookies and I eat too much ice cream and I should work out but I want to watch more tennis and I also had my period so I used that as an excuse and I just made myself a shitload of food that will probably last this week and I absolutely love long sentences. Woot.

Sports is giving my life such a lift that I'm floating on clouds and I don't sleep correctly anymore (but there may be other reasons for that, unfortunately). The U.S. 4-1 win over China was awesome not really because the U.S. won, but because Benny and Sacha and Johnny and Michael and Deuce all played and I'm so happy that Sacha got his first cap! But please, Sacha, make Benny shave off that awful facial hair! And my brain is OTPing like mad (I won't discuss this here, because you won't care) and I totally see hand sex and I am so giddy! Weee! And I am randomly enjoying watching Toronto FC and rooting for them and realizing I must have some kind of secret love for Canada... They are so like "OMG we won a game" so it's cool and they have this one commercial that totally tickles my OTPing brain.

But if you actually want anything real from this entry, go search "Un jour a Roland" on Youtube and check out the 2006 highlights because you have to absolutely watch Tati Golovin shake it...she is so cute and hot at the same time! And I usually don't dig blondes, but what can I do about the fact that so many tennis girls are also blonde?

(Ana is on my desktop again, yay! But after the French Open I will put a vaguely slashy Valkyrie Profile: Silmeria wallpaper on so I can be more motivated to play that game! Haha I would totally say I'm like more lesbianish now but Novak is just sooo good and I have those young USMNT players to track so what can I say I may be 60% towards guys, 40% towards girls? I can't do math!)
